All microbes in our inoculants are naturally occurring and Generally Recognized as Safe. Any research indicating that a microbe is potentially dangerous means it is immediately eliminated as a candidate to be included in any of our products.

Ag Chemicals cause $157B in human health and environmental damage each year in the US alone. That’s the equivalent of Hurricane Sandy happening 4.5 times every year. 

The costs of using these chemicals is only increasing. They deplete our best soils, robbing them of nutrients and beneficial microbes, so you need more and more chemical inputs each year. Right now it’s estimated the the US Corn Belt is losing $2.5B/year.

The human cost motivates us even more than these huge numbers. Exposure to Ag Chemicals is linked to higher rates of cancer, respiratory disease, miscarriages and impotency. These harms are felt most by communities of color, who also suffer the most from the current and escalating damage of climate change.

Why are you trying to replace chemical inputs?

We’ve validated Root and Re-Gen on a wide variety of crops and have customers using them on various grains, vegetables, vineyards, and hops. To name a few specific crops, customers use Re-Gen on corn, wheat, rye straw, hops, and cannabis crop residuals. Root has been used on an even wider variety of plants including but not limited to cannabis, tomatoes, grape vines, lavender, begonias, and grasses. What species of plants do your products work on?

We love composting, and understanding how it works most effectively (as well as anaerobic fermentation and other organics recycling techniques) was a key part of developing Re-Gen. Traditional composting invites the microbes required to breakdown organic matter.

Imio Re-Gen directly introduces the microbes that are best at recycling plant stalks and leftover biomass which makes a huge differences in the process and the impact of the output:

Speed & efficiency of the process: recycling with Re-Gen takes 2-4 weeks to produce usable material, where composting stalks can take over a year

The impact of the output: plants treated with Re-Gen recycled material grew 40% larger than premium compost over a 2 month period

Root is composed of naturally occurring microbes that naturally produce plant hormones and stimulate the plant’s ability to do the same. 

Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) is a rooting and plant growth hormone naturally produced by plants and certain microbes. Popular rooting gels replicate this hormone with a synthetically derived version, 1-Napthaleneacetic acid (NAA). These compounds differ slightly as shown in the diagram to the left, resulting in less effective plant interactions. 

Synthetic rooting products impact humans as well due to carcinogenic and mutagenic components.
